The First Wave of the Grand Trine in Water

The First Wave…

We have a grand trine in the element of water impacting us for the next two and a half months, so tonight, I asked spirit this question: “How can the collective harness the energy of the current grand trine in water in the most beneficial ways for our personal elevation ?”

The cards that came back are very specific, and they came through with clarity and cohesion.

The message? LEARN.

Our anchoring card directing the reading is “Her Knowledge Runs Deep” from the Solitary Witch Oracle.

This card speaks beautifully about those times when we are urged to learn and flow–”drifting between worlds letting time fade while we drink in knowledge…”

It talks about learning from a diverse pool of teachers from across the world, getting lost in stories and deepening our spiritual understanding to that which is beyond the world where we exist.

The goal is to expand in our knowledge and experience. To grow beyond what we already know and understand those things foreign to us, and while we can do this by taking to the road and traveling the world in new and exciting ways, or indulging in the newest local trend in frivolous excitement, knowledge wants us to go back to the basics and read. Settle into the coziest armchair you have with a good book and a mug of tea. Let your mind wander and float about and gather knowledge from a book or two or three.

The goal is to expand but the point is to buckle down and LEARN.

Not coincidentally at all—the tarot card pulled to clarify this message is the daughter of swords (page of swords) from The Wild Unknown Tarot deck. It’s about being curious. Having a thirst for knowledge. Being PASSIONATE about learning. Taking in new ideas, tackling new projects and integrating new perspectives.

The grand water trine that began today, October 22^nd, is anchored by Jupiter and Saturn—which will be in trine to one another until the end of this year. Those are the primary energies we are looking to work with, and as the faster-moving planets flow by the activation point around 20-25 degrees of Scorpio, triggering a Grand Trine with Jupiter and Saturn over and over again, we can pull on their energies to guide and direct our specific actions each week to help us reach the overall goals that Jupiter and Saturn lay out for us.

Both the anchoring card for our reading and the clarifying tarot card share equal aspects of Jupiter and Saturn.

Jupiter is expansion, knowledge, philosophy, religion, spirituality, luck, fortune, boldness, travel, purpose, wisdom and visionary, forward thinking.

Saturn is structure, discipline, responsibility, restriction & limitations, boundaries, hard work, karmic lessons, and both self-mastery and the mastery of various skillsets.

Both Jupiter and Saturn rely on knowledge to embody the best aspects they bring to the table. Whether Jupiter has you globe-trotting or indulging in a philosophically spiritual discussion with your bestie over brunch…whether Saturn has you tightening the structure of your day or sitting in an uncomfortable place where you are forced to learn something new that you don’t particularly want to learn but know you HAVE to learn to succeed in your current task…that’s knowledge. Jupiter might expand the knowledge with luck and fortune and adventure and FUN and an onslaught of new opportunities, and Saturn might force that knowledge through with hard lessons through failures that make you change your strategy and a million tasks that you HAVE to tighten up your schedule enough to complete. But they are both gonna get you to that expanded place of learning and wisdom and knowledge by doing what they do the way they do it, no matter what.

These are the planets that are leading the energy that takes us through the end of this year. If I did my job, you can see where their goals align at this moment—and they are part of a grand trine sitting in water signs that make it that much easier to hit the target they are leading us towards, because water tends to flow in the same direction.

Most of the time.

And so our first cards—our anchoring cards, literally tell us that the best way to navigate these next few weeks is to work with the energy of Jupiter and Saturn and LEARN. Learn the way they want us to learn. Learn the way they guide us to learn.

Just learn.

Because Your Knowledge Runs Deep.

To support this message, our other cards give us specific action, a bit of a heads-up, and some inspiration.

The Practical Magic Inner Witch Oracle offers us the wisdom of rosemary, and The Wild Unknown delivers the 7 of cups as a blessing and a warning.

Rosemary is cleansing. It purifies. It wards and protects. It offers clarity, and healing. In this context, rosemary is likely purifying blockages for us to lead us to clarity. That means that in order to align with its role in the here and now, we need to let go of what is trying to leave us. Let rosemary do its job and cleanse what is no longer beneficial. Don’t fight her, for when you release what is no longer beneficial, that makes room for those things you actually want to fill the gaps. It makes room for growth—which is what both Jupiter and Saturn are aiming us towards.

Alongside rosemary, the 7 of cups appears. At first glance, it looks like an abundance of goodies hidden inside of each cup, but when we take a closer look, some of those cups hold unrealistic opportunities, or just straight-up danger. In this, we see the echo of what Jupiter will bring: great expansion that looks realistic but may be far beyond what we can realistically do, only we are so excited at the deluge of fortunate potentialities—we forge ahead without thinking and our momentum takes us right over a cliff. Rosemary tells us to let go of what weighs us down so much we can’t stop, and the 7 of cups tells us to choose the opportunities that present themselves with care, for if we’re too divergent from reality, we will go right over that cliff without thought, even it we see it coming. Fortunately, Saturn is there with strong boundaries that will help us choose wisely. He will ground us into the present reality so firmly that we’ll see the exciting opportunities, but we will also see the pitfalls that might stop us from getting where we want to go—and if we are wise–we’ll choose accordingly.

Last, Practical Magic brings us FIRE……action. Take action. It’s not encouraging us to charge into the future without thinking, but reminding us that there are amazing opportunities ahead, and we need to be intentional with our activity to take advantage of them. Specifically: be intentional about aligning our choices with our passions and excitement. Look for what sparks our soul, our creativity, our love, our desires. Look for what inspires us—and follow it. Let the flames of fire that keep us going carry us to greatness.

And in this way, we are delivered the world. That’s the last card in our reading: The World…..we are delivered the whole effin’ world!

Do you see how exciting this is? The world represents wholeness, completion and harmony. We have embarked upon an adventure, or we’ve completed a cycle of our lives and we are proud of what we have achieved, which brings a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment. We are able to sit back and revel in all we have done, and it feels like a state of glorious joy. We see how we arrived at our goals. We are amazed at all we’ve done. We integrate the lessons and celebrate our successes. And then we sit in gratitude for this harvest and linger so that we can appreciate all of it: the totality of the lesson, the gifts, the harvest, the knowledge, the hardships, the challenges overcome, the joy, the accolades….all of it. We see it, recognize it, and acknowledge it.

And then we are free to move on.

This is the perfect cycle to wrap up the end of the year. I asked a question to help guide us on a collective level, but I will always remind you that all of this has a personal level, too.

We have a grand trine in the element of water impacting the collective, and because it’s a large, longer-term pattern—it’s going to hit us individually in some way, shape or form. But how it hits us individually will be different. I pulled my own astrological transits, and the energy is impacting me in a way that is in complete alignment with this reading—but also? I know which areas of my life it’s impacting, which means I know where to focus and where to take action and how to take action. I know how to work in better alignment to get to success.
