The Next Concentration of Energy: New Moon Solar Eclipse in Virgo

Part of aligning with your most holy and divine self is developing the discipline that allows you to find balance, awareness, and connection to your oversoul and spirit team as they guide you towards power and sovereignty. Some of the tools I use for continual growth are astrology, the patterns we witness in the relationship between the heavens and the earth, and their impact on us on an individual level.

As above, so below.

The most recent cycle we are working with began, for me, with the Black Moon on August 23rd, 2025, and will end on October 6th, 2025 with Full Harvest Moon. Here is the link to that article: Super Blood Moon

We are about a third of the way through, and after the theme of endings with the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on 9/7, and the collective theme of divine endings on the 9/9/9 portal (9/9/2025), I am thinking about how to shift my energy to stay in alignment with the movements of the planetary bodies. The next concentration of energy is September 21st through the 22nd, with a New Moon Solar Eclipse and the Fall Equinox. New Moons are about beginnings. Starting. Focusing your energy on what you will manifest, next. Those goals culminate on Full Moons.

I find the idea of New Moons being about beginnings and Full Moons being about endings or culminations to be useful, and in harmony with spirituality. I also know that we can harness energy in the ways we need to harness it, so this is not a hard and fast rule. Sometimes, you have to begin your endeavors under the light of the full moon, and then let it gestate and nourish in the warmth and darkness of the New Moon. It all depends on the overreaching energy of each moment.

The New Moon on September 21st is truly one of beginnings, especially because it aligns with the start of Autumn and the energy around this time of the season carries heavy themes of hunting and harvesting. It IS the harvest moon, after all. So while summer will be coming to an end—the beginnings are found in the joy of being in community, and working alongside one another to harvest, gather, hunt and celebrate, with prayer and offerings, the coming season and changing rhythms of life.

When I look at how I’m going to move forward, when I look at how to shift my personal work to keep focused, productive and aligned, I look at themes of harvesting and hunting through the eyes of our Ancestors who taught us how to be stewards of the earth.

Across North America, our Indigenous Ancestors lived in profound harmony with the land, guided by an intimate understanding of ecological cycles, animal migrations, and plant life. For them, hunting and harvesting were not simply acts of survival, but deep spiritual practices grounded in reciprocity, respect and responsibility; an exchange of energy between humans and Mother Earth, who sustains us and all life in perfect balance as long as we do not interfere.

Harvesting was a collective responsibility, often led by the Matriarchs of the community; the knowledge keepers. The Crones.

There was an inherent gentleness incorporated into the harvest: wild rice was collected by gently knocking the grains into a boat with cedar sticks to preserve the plant and ensure regrowth. As food was gathered, enough was always left behind to feed animals and perpetuate future harvests. Systems of planting, like the three sisters, incorporated harmony between soil and plants to enhance the nourishment of both. Taking was reciprocal, guided by need, acknowledgement of the life force exchange, and offerings of gratitude. As Indigenous communities lived in harmony with the earth, they directed their steps with care, patience and balance.

When we look at hunting, we see a similar spiritual reverence: animals were not resources, but spirits with agency connected to us by the universal energy of oneness. Again, there was reciprocity and intentional awareness before each hunt; offers of gratitude laid out in ceremonial beauty, respect and honor leading the hunt as each animal’s sacrifice was acknowledged as a gift. A successful hunter was not just physically capable and skilled—but spiritually attuned to Mother Earth, using silence and stillness to connect.

Both harvesting and hunting were communal endeavors. People worked together, sharing knowledge, sharing the workload, doing their part to secure the safety of their community over the coming barren months. Ceremonies and rituals reinforced relationships between humans, animals, plants, and the elements that sustain us—water, earth, fire, air and spirit. Seasonal changes were acknowledged as turning points that meant a shift in energy as the next season came upon the community.

Community. Connection. I think about what our ancestors taught us, and I see—again that the number 3 is important at this time, because the number 3 is, in part, all about community and connection. It represents the social butterflies, the creatives, those filled with an abundant joy of life. They talk. They circulate. They communicate and connect, and through their explorations—they find unique solutions. This is the foundation of community. So as I contemplate how I will shift my energy, I know that I will need to be aware of and intentional about how I interact with community and how I connect with people.

Balance, harmony, peace, hard work and reciprocity are also strong themes over the next month. As we move into the cooler months of fall, these are the themes I will let guide my activity, remembering that our ancestors let gentleness guide the activity as much as hard work. And so, I will incorporate gentleness as the seasons change—most especially with myself. I will keep the goal of aligning with my highest, most divine self in the forefront, emphasizing balance and sustainability; avoiding overconsumption and depletion. Shoring up the harvest of energy for the cold, winter months.

How do you see your energy shifting as we transition into fall? How do you think you can harness the energy of the Solar Eclipse on September 21st to your benefit, and to the benefit of your community?
