The astrology of the Blood Moon Eclipse…..and the hidden connections within.

The astrology of the Blood Moon Eclipse…..and the hidden connections within.

Hey y’all!

Back on August 23rd, my social media feed went heavy with the message that a VERY RARE THING CALLED A BLACK MOON was fast approaching. Like, people were shouting it. Yelling at the top of their lungs. Bombarding me. Flooding the feed.

I figured I was either being manipulated by technology (who am I kidding? I was ABSOLUTELY being manipulated!) or there was something there, so I went ahead and warmed up the old google machine.

What I found was intriguing.

This year has been one of heavy spiritual study and growth for me. By the time the August 23rd new moon popped up, I was still riding the waves from the end of the self-work I did around the Lion’s Gate (yes I know the energy dissipated on August 12th….but MY personal self-growth work did not end on that date, and it was tied to Lion’s Gate work, so I kept going until the end of the month). I was also honoring the commitment I made when I signed up for a series of spiritual classes this year, so I had a heavy workload of assignments that I had to work on daily just to keep up. I did not want to add more work to my schedule, so I went into my research thinking there likely wouldn’t be much there–that it was just social media hype, per usual.

And then I looked at the patterns behind what was happening only to discover that I was wrong.

Lunar Cycles, 8/23 – 10/6/2025 (all times Eastern Standard Time):

8/23/2025 at 2:06am: Black Moon (New Moon in Virgo). The black moon is the 3rd new moon in a season of 4; typically occurring every 3 years.

9/7/2025 at 2:09pm  Full Moon (2:09pm) and Total Lunar Eclipse (from 11:28am to 4:55pm) in Pisces. This is also called a Super Blood Moon, which is amplified full moon energy. While this is typically the harvest moon the cycle changes every 3 years, so this year, it is simply the corn moon.

9/21/2025 at 3:54pm: New Moon (3:54pm) and Partial Solar Eclipse at the last degree of Virgo (from 1:29pm to 5:53pm ). This is the fourth New moon of the summer; there are usually only 3 new moons in each season. This is part of the cycle that happens every 3 years.

9/22/2025 at 2:19pm: Fall Equinox arrives at the last degree of Virgo, within 24 hours of New Moon Solar Eclipse on 9/21.

10/6/2025 at 11:47pm: Harvest Moon (Full Moon)

At first glance, there are not many connections there. I tend to work my life in cycles though, so when I started digging in, I saw how there was a whole mini-cycle buried inside of this series of events.

From the August 23rd Black Moon right up through the Full Harvest Moon on October 6th, all of the events are tied together through astrological and numerological themes.

The theme of THREE is woven throughout. That’s what I saw, first. The Black Moon is called the black moon because it’s the 3rd new moon in a season of 4. That only happens once every 3 years. The September 7th Super Blood Moon is usually a Harvest Moon, but this year? It changed to the Corn moon because of the timing of the heavens…which changes the September Harvest Moon to October based on the fall equinox–and this pattern happens once every 3 years. The Harvest Moon this year is only the Harvest moon because of that 3 year cyclical cycle. Similarly, the September 21st new moon is tied to the Black Moon BECAUSE of the cyclical 3 year cycle which CREATES the black moon. We would not have a Black moon if we didn’t have 4 new moons inside of one season—and 9/21 is our fourth. Which creates the third.

Do I sound like I’m having fun yet? 😀 The point is: they are all connected, and for ME….the number three stood out as important inside of the cycle that was kicking off on August 23rd, and wrapping up on October 6th.

This series of astrological events are also tied together through the normal new moon to full moon cycles, and through the start of eclipse season. On top of that, the cycle wraps up with the Autumn equinox.

In numerology, the number 3 carries, in part, the concept of connection, primarily through social connections. But like everything else in spirituality, when you examine it up close and personal, each overall concept looks slightly different on an individual level. The number 3 is significant to me in a lot of ways, but connection is one of the most important, so I notice it when it pops up. In this particular instance, the number 3 was heavily tied into the work I did in one of the classes I was taking this summer, so I saw this as an opportunity to connect the work I did there with the work I could create around the energy of this next cycle. As the class came to a close, I envisioned carrying forward the energy that needed to keep moving, and releasing what was coming to an end, adding strength to my work through connection. Through three.

Three may not mean anything to you on a personal level, but it may still be valuable to incorporate into your work. It’s one of those things we have to think on as we figure out how to connect to the energy of each moment and work within the cycles so we can move ourselves forward in power.

Having the eclipse season begin and end during this cycle of 3’s was also powerful. By the way….that Super Blood Moon we just experienced on September 7th? Also part of a cycle of 3. The first one took place in March of 2025; September 7th was our 2nd, and the last will be in March of 2026. That extends the pattern and connections out over the course of a year, but that’s another story.

Eclipses bring endings. They sweep out the old; help usher in the new…kind of like Autumn, which wraps up the warm sunny months, delivers us our harvest, and leads us into the quiet solitude of Winter. The transformation can be as easy or as hard as you make it, but the energy is not going away even if the universe decides to send you some less than pleasant surprises—which can happen with eclipses. They can send happy surprises, too. We just can’t always see what’s coming inside of an eclipse. And whatever themes began for us on an individual level back in March of 2025 are going to come to some kind of resolution in March of 2026. This layover that happened on September 7th just gives us more info on what the focus is for our lessons in this cycle.

The energy of Harvesting and Hunting is also prevalent, and that is USEFUL for focused and intentional goal setting. Because magic, in the end, is practical and often feels quite….mundane.

So I looked up that Blood Moon on August 22nd and realized: there was some powerful energy heading our way, and I wanted to be intentional about how I directed that energy and conducted my life over the next 7 weeks. There are always cycles. But the same cycles don’t often repeat. Taking advantage of potent energy when it is available is one of the most practical ways I’ve found to energize my life—my goals—my personal growth. Setting intentions. Setting goals. Keeping the themes in mind and staying focused. And then adding divine activity on top of the layers. This is what keeps me moving forward.

Needless to say, I took all of that energy into account, wrote out my intentions around the next 7 weeks, and set up regular work to help focus me towards those intentions while we were all being soaked by powerful solar, lunar, and seasonal energies.

There are always cycles. There are always patterns. What patterns are you seeing in your life, right now? What lessons may they be highlighting? And now that we are a little over 2 weeks into this little cycle, how are you feeling? What unique ways are you harnessing this energy to help move your life in the right direction? What do you plan to do at the next concentration of energy on September 21st and 22nd? And how will you tie your goals of this moment into the last Super Blood Moon on the Virgo / Pisces axis in March of 2026?

Food for thought. 😉
