Let It Go…
If you look real close, you can see the fireflies. Tiny little dots just lighting up the night…
7/29/2026:
One night in June, while the fireflies swarmed through my back yard, my spirit team reached out to me with a message.
Just let go now…let it go.
There are times on this spiritual journey when I am touched beyond belief. When my heart is so full it feels like it will explode and tears of joy spill from my eyes. When I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the privilege of being able to know my higher self and when I am in awe of the spirit team who is there to love me, protect me and help me achieve my loftiest dreams.
These moments are big; these moments are small. They last for seconds, or come in waves over the course of months…but they are there as a constant reminder that the spiritual realm is real, and the energies that live in harmony with the universe above are invested in our happiness and evolution down here below.
They are invested in my happiness and evolution.
This was one of those times.
Music has been an important part of my spiritual awakening, and my team uses it to communicate, help me focus, help me learn and grow, help me regulate, and help me attune to the physical changes that come with the ascension and expansion process. You might ask how do I know that spirit is sending me music and that it’s not just part of the algorithm…and that, I would say, is a conversation for another time. Suffice to say: I know.
The type of music they use changes based on what’s needed. Some days, it’s soft and quiet and gentle. Some days it’s loud and bass-driven and passionate. Some days, it’s a bit of everything but last night? It was the soft and quiet, unassuming type of music playing in the background. The type that you let play while you’re doing all the other things. The type you don’t really pay attention to or notice much. Background noise, really…and then the song changes and slowly it hits—a chord here, an enchanting dissonance there, the joyful tinkle of the piano and the soaring heights of a live orchestra. A voice dropping from the heights of a classical falsetto to the rumbling depths of bass tones that boom with such strength it trembles through your bones. Suddenly, I was floating on the clouds, moving with the wind, traveling through the heavens. It reminded me of the music in heavy rotation at the beginning of my spiritual awakening. It left me breathless.
I felt it and I noticed. As I noticed, I let the musicality and melody wrap itself around me like a hug from a protective lover. And when the song was over, I rebooted it and looked at the lyrics, tears forming soon after realizing the message spirit was sharing with me..beautiful, joyful tears, to go with beautiful, joyful music.
So very beautiful…
Jacob Collier, the composer, performs with his mother conducting the orchestra right there on stage next to him, and their performance, together, is what conveyed how special this song is; how important the message is. It was like he was singing to her, and she was letting him know how loved he is, how supported he is, and how proud she is of him. The communication between musicians during a live performance that allows them to stay connected and in rhythm is fascinating to watch: a nod of the head; a contortion of the body meant to signal the dynamics you must follow in the moment; a glance used as a confirmation or a directive. Kind of like how spirit speaks to us, without words, without form, without loud, explicit instructions. We find the rhythm and follow them, just like the conductor of an orchestra.
Even though the song is about the ebb and flow, give and take between holding on and letting go, about being there for one another even when you can’t see or feel that hand holding you anymore, the message we can each take from it is different. It’s gonna hit you different than it hit me; it’s gonna mean something slightly different to you, than it means to me. But the meaning is woven into the core of the song, and the magic of it all spins through the bond between mother and son, enveloping the orchestra, the live audience, and finally reaching through the screen to wrap those watching on the other side tightly in a sweet, captivating spell.
It’s absolutely mesmerizing.
As we move and grow through this spiritual journey, the ground beneath our feet becomes firmer every day. Slowly, subtly, a foundation is built from our experiences, our expanded knowledge, and the work we do that leads to miraculous surprises that help us understand just how real all of it is, or average days where it feels like nothing much is going on and everything continues to hum along peacefully, quietly in the background.
As I sat down and let myself bask in the magical glow of the music, I felt it all click into place—the approach of the next phase of my journey, the clarity of where and how to move, and the love from my spirit team.
I cried. And I gave thanks as if whispering a quiet prayer.
What do you see in the lyrics? How do they speak to you?
What caught your attention that will help you strengthen the ground beneath your feet this week?
Something Heavy, by Jacob Collier ‧ 2025
I’ve been holding something
Something kinda heavy
So let go now
Let it go now
You’re getting older
The world’s a little smaller
Just let go now
Let it go
Well every time I feel a weight upon me
I hold a line
To keep it all inside
And all my life
You’ve been holding on beside me
And I know
It’s time to let it go
I’m gonna give you the moon
Hold your hand like a big balloon
Don’t let go now
Don’t let it go now
Light as a feather
I’m really someone
Don’t let me go now
I’m never gon’ let you go
And every time I build a wall around me
You hold a line to pull me back to life
And all this time
You never stopped thinking of me
But I know
It’s time to let it go now
Let it go
I’ve been feeling something
Since the day you left me
I’m sitting on your shoulders
I’m on top of the world
Don’t let go now
Please don’t let me go
And in my mind
You throw your arms around me
I find a way, to bring you back to life
And all this time I didn’t let you love me
But I know
Now I know
It’s time to let you go
